Not only is he one of this generation's premier percussionists, he is a Grammy nominated band leader with an irresistibly charismatic voice. This bongo set features 7-1/4″ and 8-5/8″ drums that are outfitted with handpicked rawhide heads, Comfort Curve II rims, 5/16″ diameter tuning lugs, a steel backing plate reinforced center block and chrome-plated cast aluminum bottoms. The stunning deep cut Mango shell with a Stained Mocha finish gives this drum a look that is rustic and modern at the same time.

Pedro Pablo “Pedrito” Martinez was born in Havana, Cuba. Since settling in New York City, Pedrito has recorded or performed with Wynton Marsalis, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Tedeshi Trucks, Dave Matthews, Sting and many more. He has also contributed to well over 75 albums.
Pedrito was a founding member of Yerba Buena and has recorded two albums with them. He has also released two solo albums as band leader. The first one was nominated for a Grammy in 2013. The second album, Habana Dreams, was recorded in Cuba and featured Ruben Blades, Isaac Delgado, Wynton Marsalis, and Angelique Kidjo.
In 2019, Pedrito recorded a duo album with Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodriguez and Quincy Jones as the Executive Producer. Later that year, Pedrito and Eric Clapton recorded and performed a new arrangement of Clapton’s song, My Father’s Eyes.
